Quintessence is a continuous linear metallic strip design, featuring the artist's patented addressable linear LED product, CABLED. This unique aspect allows for the longest linear LED product to be incorporated into the sculpture, creating a mesmerizing visual display. The sculpture's form, designed through a combination of hand drawing, 3D simulation, and metal stamping, is a testament to the artist's meticulous craftsmanship.

What sets Quintessence apart is its group interactivity, achieved through the utilization of Internet of Things (IoT) and the popular social media platform, Instagram. By sharing photos, the audience can control the visual and audio elements of the sculpture in real-time. This innovative approach not only engages the spectators but also provides them with a sense of familiarity and connection to the artwork.

The LED and soundscape of Quintessence remain in an idle mode until triggered by interactive cues from viewers' photo submissions on Instagram. The custom program analyzes these submissions and triggers relevant visual and audio cues, resulting in a synchronized and immersive experience for the audience.

Quintessence was exhibited in Hong Kong during the Lumieres Hong Kong light festival in November 2017. Its octagon stage measuring 6m x 6m x 0.6m provides the perfect setting for this captivating sculpture, which stands at 6.5m in height and 6m in width. The sculpture's weight of 1980KG showcases its robust construction and attention to detail.

Quintessence has received recognition for its innovative design and execution. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures category in 2018.
